Bodybuilder Friends Beaten By Bouncers At Gurgaon Bar

A city-based fitness consultant and his friends were allegedly beaten by bouncers and the manager of a Gurgaon bar after an argument, police said on Thursday, adding that they had booked two bouncers, the manager and the owner.

Police say the incident happened late on Saturday night when the complainant, Mohan Mishra, who runs a gym and competes in bodybuilding, went to a bar in Sector 29 to celebrate her birthday with five friends.

“Around 1 a.m., we entered the club and the manager arranged a table for us near the dance floor. We started dancing… after a while a bouncer came and asked us to leave. We called the manager but he behaved badly with us and threatened to kick us out. When we refused to leave, the manager called other bouncers from outside, and they started insulting us and threatening us with death. They attacked us with sticks. I suffered injuries to my face…near my eyes and mouth, and my friends were also beaten. Part of my gold chain broke during the incident,” the complainant said.

Police said one case had been recorded. “We have obtained CCTV footage and are verifying the content of the complaint. Four people including bouncers, the manager and the owner of the bar were named in the FIR. No arrests have been made so far,” an official said on condition of anonymity.

An FIR was registered under IPC Sections 147 (riot), 149 (unlawful assembly), 323 (wilfully causing injury), 506 (criminal intimidation) at the Sector 29 police station, police said.

The incident comes more than a month after a private company employee and his brother were allegedly roughed up by bouncers at a bar across the road from the golf course in Gurgaon after an argument.
